Emergency Switch

Emergency Switch
In emergency scenarios, rapid and direct access to fire suppression systems is critical for vehicle and personnel safety. The Emergency Switch is designed to provide immediate manual activation of the vehicle’s fire extinguishing system from outside the vehicle. By operating independently from the main control unit, it ensures reliable system activation even in the most critical conditions.
Emergency Switch
The Emergency Switch enables manual activation of fire extinguishers installed in various protected zones of the vehicle, including the crew compartment, engine bay, tyre area, vehicle body, and other system-defined compartments. This functionality is essential in situations where the operator is outside the vehicle or when automatic detection may be insufficient.
The switch is directly connected to the vehicle battery, allowing instant operation without reliance on the main fire suppression controller.
Independent and Redundant Operation
Designed as a redundant emergency mechanism, the Emergency Switch operates electrically isolated from the main control unit. This independent architecture enhances system reliability and ensures compliance with high-reliability military and industrial safety requirements.
By functioning separately from the central controller, the switch provides an additional layer of protection in emergency fire scenarios.
Manual Activation and Safety Features
The Emergency Switch supports manual override activation, allowing the operator to instantly discharge the connected extinguishing agents. It is capable of triggering up to three fire suppression tubes simultaneously, ensuring effective response across multiple zones.
An integrated warning indicator provides visual or electronic alerts before or during activation, increasing operator awareness and operational safety during emergency use.
Environmental Resistance and Durability
The Emergency Switch is engineered for exterior vehicle installation and is built to withstand harsh operational environments. It operates reliably across a wide temperature range from −40°C to +71°C and offers IP67-rated protection against dust and water ingress.
With high resistance to salt fog exposure, the switch is suitable for long-term use in demanding field conditions.
Electrical and Mechanical Characteristics
The Emergency Switch supports a wide operating voltage range of 16–32 VDC and is designed for high reliability, with an MTBF rating of 150,000 hours. Its ruggedized structure ensures durability under shock, vibration, and external environmental stress.
The compact form factor allows straightforward installation on vehicle exteriors without compromising accessibility or protection.
Standards Compliance and Certifications
The Emergency Switch is designed in accordance with recognized military and industrial standards. It complies with MIL-STD-810H for environmental durability, MIL-STD-461G for electromagnetic compatibility, and MIL-STD-1275E for military vehicle electrical systems. Additional safety certifications include UL, CE, and GOST-R.
Contribution to Vehicle Fire Safety
By providing immediate, manual, and independent activation of fire suppression systems, the Emergency Switch plays a vital role in vehicle fire safety. Its robust design, redundant operation, and external accessibility make it an essential component for effective emergency response in military and special-purpose vehicles.
