Laser Target Designator

The operational role of the Laser Target Designator QD3000 is to designate and mark targets for laser-guided platforms and munitions. By providing stable and accurate laser designation, the system supports precision engagement while enabling operators to acquire, track, and designate targets under varying light and environmental conditions.

Areas of Use

The QD3000 is intended for military and security operations requiring laser target designation and situational awareness. It is suitable for field operations conducted in daylight, low-light, and night conditions. The system can be used in dismounted operations as well as in coordination with unmanned or manned platforms requiring laser designation support.

Structure / Configuration / Technical Features

The Laser Target Designator QD3000 integrates a laser designator capable of operating up to 20 Hz with a target acquisition range of approximately 3–5 km. The system includes an HD OLED display, an integrated rangefinder, GNSS support, and a digital compass, allowing real-time display of target coordinates in MGRS, UTM, or geographic formats.

The device supports day and night laser spot imaging and can operate in low-light conditions without the use of a thermal camera. Optional uncooled or cooled thermal imagers are available for enhanced performance. The system features zero warm-up time, no moving parts, and completely silent operation.

The QD3000 supports wired and wireless remote control, live data transfer to handheld terminals, and optional Ethernet, WiFi, and Bluetooth connectivity. It includes an internal target coordinate acquisition module, internal see-spot capability, and 8× sighting capability. Power is supplied by a rechargeable internal battery that can be replaced during operation. The all-inclusive system weight is approximately 3.9 kg.

Test Standards

The Laser Target Designator QD3000 is certified to meet MIL-STD-810H for environmental durability and MIL-STD-461G for electromagnetic compatibility. The system is compatible with STANAG 3733, supporting standardized laser designation and interoperability requirements.

Functional Role

Functionally, the QD3000 enables accurate and repeatable laser target designation while providing operators with integrated navigation, ranging, and observation capabilities. Its solid-state design, lack of moving parts, and ability to operate continuously without warm-up support reliable performance in extended field operations. The system enhances coordination between operators and laser-guided assets by delivering precise and timely target information.
