Air Measuring Device

The Air Measuring Device is developed to measure and analyze airborne particles by detecting light scattered from individual particles passing through a laser beam. These measurements are used to determine particle size distribution and particle concentration, enabling the calculation of particulate mass values for PM1, PM2.5, PM4, and PM10 classifications.

Deployment Areas

The device is deployed in biological detection systems, CBRN-related monitoring applications, vehicle-mounted protection systems, shelters, and controlled environments where continuous airborne particle measurement is required. It is suitable for both fixed and mobile applications supporting situational awareness and environmental monitoring.

Measurement and System Structure

The system measures particles with diameters ranging from 0.3 µm to 10 µm using a laser-based particle sensor. An integrated LCD display provides clear visualization of PM1, PM2.5, PM4, and PM10 values, enabling real-time observation of particle size distribution.

The device analyzes light radiated by individual particles carried within the sampled airflow. Particle mass concentrations are calculated based on particle size spectrums and concentration data, using assumed particle density and refraction index values. This approach enables detailed interpretation of particulate loads present in the measured air.

Test and Compliance Framework

The Air Measuring Device is designed to operate reliably across a wide range of environmental conditions, supporting continuous sampling and measurement under varying temperature and humidity levels. Its structure and sensing methodology are suitable for integration into advanced detection and monitoring systems requiring stable and repeatable particulate analysis.

Functional Role

The device continuously monitors airborne particulate matter and provides real-time data on particle size and mass concentration. By distinguishing between PM1, PM2.5, PM4, and PM10 fractions, it supports biological detection, environmental assessment, and air quality monitoring functions within CBRN-related systems and protected environments.
