Nero Endüstri Savunma Sanayi A.Ş. exports its solutions in power systems, fire extinguishing and explosion suppression systems, and CBRN filtration systems to 20 countries.

By delivering indigenous products to the Turkish defense industry—particularly in the fields of fire extinguishing and explosion suppression systems—Nero Endüstri Savunma Sanayi A.Ş. not only contributes to the protection of Turkish soldiers but has also achieved the capability to export to 20 countries.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nero Endüstri Savunma Sanayi A.Ş., Alican Ökçün, provided information on the company’s activities during a press conference held together with the company’s senior management.

Ökçün stated that the company offers solutions in power systems, fire extinguishing and explosion suppression systems, as well as chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) filtration systems within the defense industry.

Noting that the company closed the previous year with a turnover of TRY 150 million, Ökçün reported that Nero Industries currently holds orders totaling TRY 450 million.

Ökçün emphasized that Nero Industries’ products are actively used in 20 countries, while qualification processes are ongoing in an additional six countries.

Underlining that investments continue both domestically and internationally in order to meet growing demand and expand into new markets, Ökçün stated that by the end of the year, the company plans to realize investments totaling USD 23 million: USD 5 million for the factory in Sakarya, USD 15 million for the facility in Ankara, USD 2.5 million for the Orlando facility in the United States, and USD 500,000 for the facility in Bulgaria.

Target: Becoming the World’s Largest

Ökçün stated that the company has achieved a localization rate of 92% in explosion suppression and fire extinguishing systems, and that their products ensure the safety of nearly all armored land vehicles in Türkiye.
“Our explosion suppression system ensures the survival of vehicle occupants in the event of an attack or adverse incident. Turkish soldiers are now protected by indigenous systems rather than products previously procured from abroad,” he said.

Pointing out that there are two major manufacturers abroad in the field of explosion suppression, Ökçün noted that their goal is to surpass these competitors and become the world’s leading company in this area.

Ökçün added that the power systems produced by Nero Industries form the core of critical systems used by major prime contractors in the Turkish defense industry, emphasizing that 80% of the company’s production needs are supplied by domestic industrial partners.

He also stated that more than 6,000 systems were delivered in the previous year.

Targeting Air and Naval Platforms

Alican Ökçün drew attention to the fact that many foreign products and subsystems are currently used in explosion suppression and fire extinguishing systems for aerial platforms, stating that they aim to entrust the lives of Turkish soldiers in these domains to Turkish industry as well. He added that contacts have been established with the Turkish Aerospace Industries in this direction.

Ökçün noted that the integration of their products into naval platforms is also on the agenda, stating:
“Three ships have currently been allocated to us for localization of the systems. Our goal is to reach ten ships by the end of this year. Following that, we hope to take part in the Pakistan MILGEM project as well.”

Ökçün also shared that procedures regarding the use of Nero Industries products by the United States Army are progressing successfully.

Additionally, Ökçün announced that at the International Defence Industry Fair (IDEF), the company will introduce a low-cost laser detection system specifically designed for armored land vehicles.

Öznur Ökçün, General Manager of Standart Test, which operates within the same group as Nero Endüstri Savunma Sanayi A.Ş., stated that they are conducting activities related to test infrastructures that are critical for the development and certification of indigenous and original products.
