Nero Industry Exports Laser Warning and Smoke Mortar System to Ukraine

According to the information obtained, Nero Endüstri has reached an agreement with Ukraine for the sale of 90 system sets including Smoke Mortar and Laser Warning Systems. Within the scope of this agreement, the signing ceremony is planned to take place during the 14th International Defence Industry Fair (IDEF 2019).
The Laser Warning and Smoke Mortar System developed by Nero Endüstri is primarily designed to protect small- and medium-sized mobile platforms against unwanted detection, while detecting laser and microwave emissions to safeguard vehicles against laser-designated weapon systems.
Through the smoke mortar launching system, effective protection is provided for both the vehicle and its crew. The system significantly complicates enemy surveillance, targeting, and tracking of the vehicle by day and night vision devices.
Developed by Nero Endüstri to enhance the defense capability of armored land vehicles against laser-guided missiles through a cost-effective solution, the Laser Warning System detects laser signals directed at the vehicle and automatically fires the onboard smoke mortars toward the direction from which the laser originates, where a potential threat is present. In this way, the laser’s contact with the vehicle is disrupted, effectively neutralizing the missile’s guidance capability.
With a cost that is four to five times lower than that of competing systems on the market, the solution can be integrated not only into critical platforms such as main battle tanks, but also into a wide range of land vehicles.
